Manchester Open
About the 2010 Open
Introduction
This Competition is promoted by The City of Manchester Aquatics Swim Team and will be held under Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) laws and ASA Technical Rules of Racing. The event is licensed Level One meet (1NW0332) by the ASA for entry into National Competitions and Championships and District championships

Saturday 15th May 2010 & Sunday 16th May 2010

Venue
Manchester Aquatics Centre, 2 Booth Street East, Manchester M13 9SS

Facility
50 meter, 8 Lane, constant 2 meter water depth deck level pool with anti wave lane ropes, continuous 25-meter, 6 lane warm up/ swim down facilities.
Omega electronic timing with electronic display, Hy-Tek MM3 meet software.

Events    
50m, 100m, 200m and 400m Freestyle;
50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly, Backstroke and Breaststroke;
200m and 400m IM.
Heats will be run with all age groups seeded together, slowest to fastest on submitted entry times. All events are heat declared in age group categories.

Qualifying Times
Qualifying times (not cut off times) for the meet are for guidance only and will be dependent on standard of entries. Actual cut-off times will be depending on level of entries received, the promoter reserves the right to restrict the number of entries by rejecting entries. To meet ASA Gala regulations

Age Groups
Boys: 10/11, 12, 13, 14, 15/16, 17 years and over
Girls: 10/11, 12, 13, 14/15, 16 years and over
Age as at 16th May 2010

Awards
Awards Awards to Top Visiting Club, Medals to first three placed swimmers in each age group in each individual event and each age group FINA highest points scorer.

Entries
All submitted times must be Long Course times or converted Short Course times. Random checks will be made against the current ASA Ranking Lists. All entries must show clearly the swimmers full date of birth and new ASA registration number. Entries will be restricted if events are over subscribed to keep the time of each session within ASA appropriate time period. All entry/scratched swims will be confirmed by e-mail and or posted on web site. Refunds for entries not accepted will be available for collection at the start of the meet No cards will be issued The Meet Secretary reserves the right to allocate spare lane swims to City of Manchester Aquatics Swim Team members.

Closing Date
The closing date for entries is 15th April 2010. All entries must be submitted on Hy-Tek Lite system with Summary Entry form. The Hy-Tek meet entry file can be down loaded from http://www.cityofmanchesteraquatics.co.uk
We prefer entries using the Hy-Tek Lite system. The zip entries, together with entry fees, one combined cheque per club please, with Club summary.

Entry Fees
Swimmers:
£5.00 per event per swimmer
Minimum entry fee £7 (including Swim North West levy 25p)
PLEASE NOTE ENTRY TO THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

Coach’s Pass: £15 (to include poolside access, programme and results sheets)

Team Manager’s Pass: £10 (to include poolside access)

Please note: any persons without passes will be refused entry to the poolside.

Spectators: £10 for weekend pass, £6 for Day pass

Team Managers/Coaches or swimmers MUST notify the recorders of any swimmers withdrawing from an event before the warm-up for the session in which the event is due to be swum.

Photography
In accordance with ASA child protection policy any person wishing to engage in the use of video, zoom or close range photography must register at the entrance desk. You will be issued with a tag for your photographic equipment and this must remain attached within the building.
